Abbottabad is 120 kilometres north of Islamabad, and the distance is the least interesting thing about it. This is a hill route: the Karakoram Highway climbs steadily, the bends tighten, and the vehicle that suits the load on flat ground is often the wrong one here.
Gradient decides the vehicle
A fully loaded 16-foot Mazda on a long climb is slow, hot and hard on brakes coming back down. For most Abbottabad jobs we prefer a Shehzore — sometimes two trips rather than one large vehicle. It sounds like more, and it is usually both safer and no more expensive.
Stacking for a winding road
On a straight motorway run, weight distribution forward and low is enough. On a climbing, turning route, everything has to be strapped against sideways movement as well. Tall items get laid down or braced. It takes twenty minutes longer at loading and prevents the single most common hill-route complaint.
Weather is part of the plan
Between December and February the upper stretches can be wet or icy, and fog is common in the mornings. We would rather move a booking by a few hours than send a loaded vehicle up in bad visibility, and we will tell you why.
Areas we cover in Abbottabad
If your area is not on this list it does not mean we will not reach it — tell us the address and we will tell you straight away whether the vehicle can get to your gate or whether the last stretch needs a smaller one.
The route. 120 km up the Hazara Motorway and the KKH. Climbing, winding, and best done with a smaller vehicle than the load would need on flat ground.
