Household shifting is the everyday version of what we do — a portion, a flat, a single room of furniture going across town. Smaller than a full house move, but the things that break are exactly the same things, so the packing does not get smaller with the job.
Flats, portions and single rooms
A one-bedroom flat is usually a Suzuki pickup and two loaders. A portion of a house is a Shehzore. What decides it is rarely the number of rooms — it is the fridge, the double bed, the almirah and whether any of them has to come down a staircase. Room by room, labelled as we go
Each carton is marked with the room it came from and, where it matters, what is inside it. Unpacking then follows the same order, which is how a shift finishes in a day instead of dragging through a week of opening boxes to find the kettle.
The kitchen is the whole job
People underestimate the kitchen every single time. Crockery, glass, the microwave, the stove, the cylinder, the masala rack and the things at the back of the top shelf. It is usually a third of the cartons on a 2-bed shift and it is where almost all the breakage risk sits, so it gets packed first and loaded last.
Students, bachelors and short moves
Not every job is a family shifting a house. A single room of furniture, a hostel move at the end of term, a bed and a desk going two sectors over — those are charged small, by the hour where that works out cheaper for you, and we will say so rather than quote a full-day rate.
What you get in writing, before loading day. Every rate is split into four lines — vehicle and distance, loading and unloading, packing material, and extras. Nothing is hidden inside a single round number, so if a figure changes you can see which one changed.
